The Beginning
I started my Journey a week after New Years, and after weeks of eating a tragic diet of cookies and fatty foods it was no small feat. While my poor eating habits during Christmas and new years didn't make me pack on any extra pounds, but instead it helped me maintain the unhealthy weight I already had. Come New Years I felt like garbage. I was most definitely out of shape. I could tell by how hard it was for me to do something as easy as walk around without getting tired. On top of that, My clothes made me feel uncomfortable, they were snugger then usual and my skin was constantly breaking out. My self esteem was completely shot. I wouldn't even put on make up because I wouldn't make me feel or look any better. Forget about gyaru! I had quit being a gal months ago, felt too fat then so why would even bother now?
I was tired of these feelings, and New Years eve I made a resolution to start getting healthy and taking care of my body and working on my self esteem. However this year I did it different and followed one of my favorite youtubers actions, meekakitty, and decided not to tell anyone. I didn't want to feel the gratification of something until I actually started to do it.
My Process
In this book contains information on how to clear out your system and make you feel better over all. Mentally. Physically. You'll just feel better, and thats what I wanted. Now Little did I know, this book was pretty extreme. It cut out some of the items that were always in my diet: Milk, wheat and red meat. To me that was CRAZY. What the hell was I supposed to eat? On top of that what was I supposed to make for my girlfriend who wasn't detoxing? Originally my girlfriend agreed to detox with me, but naturally that didn't last long. The recipes in the book were sort of strange to me. It was completely gluten free, low sodium and heavy in vegetables. Fortunately, I was allowed to eat fish and sometimes white meat like chicken. The food was so fresh tasting, which all though delicious still took some time getting used to. Foods saturated in sodium and fat were my norm, this was just... different. Two weeks into the diet and I got used it. I Liked actually cooking my own food and controlling what went into it. Most importantly I enjoyed how I was feeling most of all. I was feeling more energetic and happy! That just meant it was time to introduce something else into my healthy life: exercise.
I continued to to stay on my detox into mid February and I was felling great! I started working out to blogilaties videos and also at planet fitness with a personal trainer. It was time for me to graduate to a new diet book. one that introduced wheat and dairy back into my diet.
I ended up choosing this cookbook because I wanted meals both me and my girlfriend would enjoy. THe meals in this are absolutely delicious! Since I started this diet I've also been plugging all of my food into my fitness pal (myfitnesspal.com) and lost weight with the help of the website/app!
All in all by my birthday on March 3rd I lost a total a total of 18 pounds! this is awesome, but only a fraction of my weight loss goals. By the end of this summer I want to lose a total of 60 pounds. Since my birthday I've been a little off track, but as of today I'm back on it! I'm ex cited to continue my journey.
Some things I've learned along the way
- Eat on small plates and use small utensils- this will trick the eye and the mind into thinking you're eating more than you actually are
- Eat on blue plates and bowls- nothing you eat is actually blue, this is sort of a mind game. it'll trick into believing that what you're eating isn't edible, making it so you don't go back for another plate
- drink lots of water before and after your meal- it'll make you fuller faster.
- load up on veggies- they're full of water!
My Thinspo inspiration
Megu Fujigamori
My god she is thin, but it looks so good o her, she actually looks healthy. No realistically I'll still have more butt, boob and thigh then her, it's in my genetics, but she's definitely inspiring to look at.
Anyways that's all for this post!!
